FEHİME SULTAN MANSION - ORTAKÖY

It is the treasure of Gazi Osman Pasha, the hero of Pleven.
Located on the line from Ortaköy Mosque to Kuruçeşme, Fehime Sultan Mansion is among the most precious mansions on the Bosphorus.

This mansion is also known as Gazi Osman Pasha mansion. The reason is that the mansion was built by Abdülhamit II in 1883 and was personally gifted to Gazi Osman Pasha, the hero of the Pleven War. Later, when Osman Pasha's son Kemalettin Pasha married Naime Sultan, the daughter of Abdülhamit II, the mansion started to be called Naime Sultan Mansion.

Finally, the mansion started to be known by this name when it was given to Fehime Sultan, daughter of Sultan Murad V, in 1901.

After 1926, the mansion was first used as an orphanage and then as a tobacco warehouse, and later served as Gazi Osman Paşa Secondary School. Unfortunately, the mansion was heavily damaged by fire in 2002.

Built in stylistic Neobaroque style, the mansion is one of the six Hanım Sultan Palaces in Istanbul. There is Hatice Sultan Mansion next to it. Today, these two buildings have been restored to serve as hotels..
